At the 20th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20) held in Lima in December 2014, the government of Peru - which presided over the meeting - organized "Climate Action Day," a day of a high-level dialogue to promote the acceleration of climate action and to recognize the many stakeholders committed to mitigating climate change.
400,000 citizens representing various age groups, institutions, and businesses have made a commitment in the fight against climate change in Peru through the “Pon de tu parte” ("Do your part") campaign. This came about thanks to a collaborative process of consciousness-raising and demonstrates the will of the country to promote a gradual and sustainable change toward a resilient, low-emissions future.
At the 20th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20) held in Lima in December 2014, Avina and its allies contributed to the debate on sustainable development and climate change, both during activities prior to COP20 as well as during the conference.
